Export and import queries

You may want to export queries to send them across to your client to be answered, create a backup, or add more details according to your needs. You can export a query or a list of selected queries at any time.

You have two export options:

  • Export selected
  • Export by status(es)

Here’s how you export a selected query/queries:

1. Tick the upper checkmark to select the entire page or tick the relevant query checkmarks one by one.

2. Confirm with the “Export selected” button.

💭   Filters and searches will also be reflected in your export if you tick the upper check mark.

Here’s how you export a query/queries by status(es):

1. Press the “Export” button.

2. In the following box, you have the option to select a specific query status, multiple statuses, or all statuses for your export. The number of queries you export is determined by the number of queries under your selected status(es).

3. Confirm with the “Export” button.

Import queries

The exported file is in format .xlsx.

💭 Do not remove columns or change their title if you are planning to import answers from the file.

Here’s how you import all your queries:

1. Add your answers to the exported file and save the changes.

2. On Alocai, select the "Import" button.

3. Select your file and confirm.

4.. The answer(s) will be automatically populated and the status will change accordingly.

💭 If you edit an already answered query from the export, the answer will be ignored when importing it back. Only answers to queries that fall under the Client answer pending and In-house answer pending status can be imported.

💭 To prevent mixing or replacing content between projects, you cannot import queries from one project to another. Each query has a unique ID (UUID) that binds it to the project it belongs.
